Abstract
Logistics information system (LIS) is a modern technology which takes use of computer and information technology. This study discussed the application of GIS (geographic information system), RS (remote sensing) and GPS (global position system) technologies in modern LIS respectively based on the introduction of GIS, RS and GPS technologies, then discussed the integration of 3S technologies in the building of LIS, and finally describes the main structure of modern LIS. The benefits of the application of 3S technologies in LIS include many aspects, such as 3S technologies can be used to optimize the allocation and management of logistics resources, to improve the efficiency of logistics distribution and scheduling, to monitor the logistics business optionally, to analyze the logistics information timely, and so on.
