  • Abstract
    In the context of low data rate, low power IR-UWB radio networks, we propose a strategy for impulsive interference management based on pulse rate adaptation. Sources are always allowed to send at full power and to independently adapt their average pulse repetition frequency in order to control the shared medium utilization and guarantee QoS constraints. Our concept is based on existing findings that claim that the optimal MAC protocol design should not use power control but rate adaptation as a mean to manage MUI. Game theory is used to investigate the average pulse repetition frequency optimization for providing maximum network throughput while satisfying QoS constraints per link in terms of bit error rate.
