Abstract
Call admission control (CAC) is an indispensable mechanism in VoIP networks. It is a deterministic and informed decision made before a call is established. In the meantime, mobile agent is regarded as a promising technology for use in widely distributed heterogeneous open networks. This paper proposes a mobile agent based CAC scheme in enterprise VoIP networks with its architecture and implementation explained. It is shown that the proposed architecture improves intelligence and flexibility of the VoIP networks and accommodates well to the CAC mechanism.
