Abstract
Current customers of information technology are exposed to a complex environment. The main sources of complexity are: the wide range of technologies, applications and services; and the management components attached to them, as identified in the modern architectures for computing and communications. Outsourcing of management tasks, i.e. the delegation of management tasks from a customer organization to a provider organization, the outsourcer, which carries out the operational management on behalf of the customer, is considered a form of customer assistance by which solutions are made available to the customer without implying high management overheads
