Abstract
This paper reports on the development of the ECRH launcher at the ITER upper port. In this design, the desired functionality is achieved. The mm-wave design uses two front steering (FS) mirror systems to sweep eight beams in a poloidal plane providing co-ECCD over the outer half of the plasma cross section. A novel frictionless, backlash-free steering mechanism has been developed for an increased reliability and providing a desired steering mirror rotation.
