Abstract :
Laser-diode-pumped microchip, all-solid-state frequency-doubled lasers have potential use in numerous applications. Among many types of solid-state lasers, the Nd stoichiometric (i.e., direct compound) laser LiNdP/sub 4/O/sub 12/ (LNP) has been shown to possess the unique property of being able to achieve simultaneous single-frequency oscillations on different transitions, as the result of high Nd concentrations. In this paper, we demonstrate efficient second-harmonic and sum-frequency generations associated with multi-transition oscillations in a laser-diode-pumped microchip LNP laser using an intracavity KTiOPO/sub 4/ crystal.
