Abstract :
In this paper, an optimized current control for a heater application is proposed. The system is based on an AC chopper to reduce the effective current flowing in the heater resistance. The system represents a solution for water heating in countries that use limited backup power systems during the grid rationing. Although, the proposed design decreases the scale precipitation on heater elements and on water distribution hardware which can result in overheating and eventual failure.
