Abstract
In this paper, the nanoparticles are ferromagnetic and have charge density on the surface, and the magnetic force is coupled with the Lorentz force. To investigate the distribution of magnetic force exerted on a unit cell with different volume fraction, the nodal force method and homogenization method are applied. Lorentz force on the electric double layers of different size particles are analyzed using both 2-D and 3-D models. The calculated results show that 2-D analysis is sufficient for the analyzed nanoparticles. The proposed electromagnetic forces analysis method can be coupled to fluid and temperature analysis of nanofluid.
