Abstract
A design of a galactic RF distance measuring system based on a Josephson junction array is presented. The system can be used to measure the approximate distance to the origin of a radio burst in space, by measuring the frequency dispersion of the burst radiation and calculating the dispersion measure, which is then used to calculate the approximate distance to the source. The designed system can be used to nominally measure signals lasting a minimum duration of 10 ms or greater, within an RF range of 1-3 GHz.
