  • Abstract
    This paper presents a low-cost low-profile compact waveguide-fed slotted antenna array with very low average sidelobe level (ASLL) in X-band. The desired current distribution on the antenna array´s aperture is synthesized using Schelkunoff´s unit circle technique combined with genetic algorithm technique. The antenna array design based on the synthesized current distribution is carried out using finite integration technique-based commercial EM simulator. The designed antenna is fabricated using a low-cost fabrication process. The measured results obtained are in good agreement with the simulated results. This work is extremely useful for the radar applications.
