  • Abstract
By creating digital representations of the real world, the Internet of Things (IoT) allows us to interact, monitor, and control systems and environments as never before. Some predictions anticipate IoT will initiate a 100 fold increase in the number of connected devices, resulting in a demand for lower network latency and power consumption. IoT will become a fundamental transformation agent across a wide spectrum of industries and society. This rapid change and lack of standardization has resulted in a fragmentation of technology. To create a truly networked society requires market driven standardization and the deployment of standardized technology for IoT devices, networks, and software. In the end, users expect seemless connectivity, security, and manageability end-to-end.
