Abstract :
Devices with wireless receptors are common to the world´s reality. Location based services (LBS) are becoming popular by taking advantage of the GPS positioning of the mobile devices, and sharing the positioning information with people. But there is nothing that can be done to, with the actual technology, enable the use of the GPS signal inside buildings and structures. The main purpose of this article is to investigate the viability of an environment oriented location approach, based on the wireless signals strengths indicators fingerprint. It was verified that the wireless fingerprint have standards signals for different house rooms. The use of the wireless signal strength fingerprint for the main purpose of this paper is possible.
