Abstract
Every decade someone indignantly tells us that the United States and Britain should have bombed the rail lines at Auschwitz and other death camps during World War II, Figure 1. They imagine GPS-guided bombs accurate enough to enter a window. They think World War II bombing technology had accuracy equal to the guided bombs available today. This article analyzes the practicality of bombing the camps.
