Abstract :
2015 is rapidly flying by for all of us, including IEEE Design & Test. We are very pleased to round out a highly successful year of production with an exciting new Special Issue that focuses on Microfluidics. From microscopic microfluidic biochips in molecular biology on Earth, to analytical detection of biomolecules in the soil on Mars, the articles we present to you for this final issue of 2015 are on the cutting edge of state-of-the-art microfluidic biochip technology. The recent appeal of this exciting topic is matched by the esteem of our base of international authors for this issue, and we are proud of the work, insights, and perspectives that are reported here. These are the results of a lot of R&D efforts over the years by the contributing authors, and this issue did not happen on its own. It is the result of hard work on the part ofmany, including our authors, guest editors, reviewers, and editorial board and production support staff. The special issue articles are briefly summarized.
