Abstract :
Various optical binary data shifting circuits have been designed here by using a polarising beam splitter, a half-wave plate and liquid crystal-phase spatial light modulators. These circuits are based on the polarisation properties of light. Here, p-polarised light (logic value `1´) and no light (logic value `0´) are considered as optical binary bits. Numerical simulations have been performed to find the insertion loss using the data sheet of some commercially available optical products.
