Abstract :
Automatically detecting people in videos is one of the largest challenges in the field of computer vision. Whether for videography, security purposes, or for use in systems such as self-driving cars, it is increasingly important for systems to be able to spot people. This, however, can prove to be quite problematic. Unlike inanimate objects, the outline of living things changes depending on pose and the obstructions they pass behind. Dr. Alvaro García-Martín and Dr. Juan C. SanMiguel of the Autonomous University of Madrid have presented their work on context-aware automated people detection.
