Abstract
This paper presents the propagation loss estimation in the “Cerrado” biome by collecting experimental results at mobile channel at 144 and 435 MHz. The developed statistical modeling characterizes the mobile channel in this biome through tables and graphs. The analysis of the results was based in biotic and non-biotic aspects intrinsic to the tested environment, which is few explored in the scientific researches on the topic: mobile propagation in forest. The experimental findings, compared to the general theoretical expectation in which the propagation losses in humid climate is significantly higher than in dry weather, were not found in the post-processing raw data. Files measures were treated by computational tools based on statistical filtering theory. The results were clarified by power loss mathematical modeling which is an appropriate format to mobile radio planners of advanced networks.
