Abstract :
The importance of understanding and applying Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) nowadays is fundamental for our current society. In the current context that we find ourselves in, teachers access the Web more and more every day to find different types of digital resources that will help them improve their teaching to provide a better and higher quality education. However, many teachers are still reluctant to use available resources and share their own works with others due to issues relating to intellectual property rights. This implies the need of a standardized framework, which allows creators to maintain their copyright and still authorize certain uses of their works. Creative Commons is the most widespread Open Content licensing model. It can be considered de facto as the standard for Open Content licensing. This paper focuses its attention in the knowledge that educators and other users have on the management of Creative Commons licenses. An educational platform to support teachers sharing educational materials on the basis of Creative Commons licenses is introduced.
