Abstract
The paper analyzes the problem of polarization degree fading in polarimetric fiber optic sensors and presents results of measurements of different polarization characteristics for HB (highly birefringent) fibers with intrinsic, but also with dynamically-controlled, birefringence. The influence of polarization degree, of partially polarized light passing through HB optical fibers, on metrological parameters of polarimetric sensors is presented.
