Abstract :
Wide bandwidth, lithium niobate integrated optical modulators have been packaged with GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) preamplifiers and control electronics to form hybrid photonic transmitter modules. MMIC preamplifiers with gain compensation have been used to compensate for the modulator frequency response and to flatten the overall response.
