Abstract
The design of a broadband planar antenna using fractal geometry is presented. The proposed antenna design is a Minkowski fractal curve dipole; results of impedance and radiation pattern simulations are provided. At low frequencies, the antenna behaves like a straight dipole which is physically longer; it gives a chance to minimise antenna size and is very important in portable device applications. At higher frequencies, broadband impedance matching has been achieved, which confirms a thesis about broadband Minkowski fractal antenna properties.
