Abstract :
The paper addresses the problem of designing sequence sets with favorable aperiodic correlation properties in the vicinity of the zero shift. Such sets enhance the performance of approximately synchronized CDMA systems. The paper proposes criteria for selecting sequences for such systems and derives lower bounds on them. Furthermore, we construct two sequence sets and evaluate their correlation properties. We use a recently developed method for constructing minimum Welch bound equality (MWBE) sets (Heath, R.W. and Strohmer, T., Allerton Conf. on Comm. Control and Comp., 2002).
