Abstract :
This paper presents the influence of additives on the stabilization of ZrO/sub 2/ powders, as well as the delimitation of optimum compositional domains. Comparative analyses were made on powders stabilized with 3-20% CeO/sub 2/ and doped with 1% SrO and samples with the same content of CeO/sub 2/ but without doping oxide. All samples were thermally treated at 1610/spl deg/C in vacuum and the doped samples were burned at 1550/spl deg/C and 1750/spl deg/C in oxidizing atmosphere. Investigations of phase compositions, microstructure and surface morphology were performed.
