Abstract
Numerical modeling of optical pulse propagation along the fiber is studied in the paper. Pulse propagation is described using nonlinear Schrodinger equation and two numerical models, finite difference method and pseudospectral method, are considered. The developed models are tested concerning the accuracy of simulation results and time needed for the simulations. The finite-differences model is chosen as more accurate one. The influence of selected boundary conditions on program accuracy is discussed and the recommendations for their use are given.
