Abstract :
Since the beginning of the history of armed forces there are several highly important evolutions that have changed radically environment of conflict and balances of power. Authors of this study think that one of the most important recent developments in the matter of armed conflict specifically in the peace time is efficiently, economically and timely use of force. By using these tools, peaceful nations might reduce their arsenal by increasing technological advantages in the same time keeping and even increasing their strike ability to deter any potential hostile power. In simple wording C/sup 4/IRS can be defined as optimal resource management of any potential armed conflict. C/sup 4/IRS is not a recent development and in a much simpler form C/sup 2/ is the military vocabulary since a century. Increasing employment of Satellite Communication and Satellite Sensing technologies in C/sup 4/IRS procedures in defining tactical picture and sharing it between different decision makers is forcing classical structure of military forces to have revolutionary re-structuring programs. Within this presentation we would like to emphasize Turkish Armed Forces opportunities following establishment of a highly capable SatCom system. In the same scope we would like to evaluate potential outcomes that we can expect in the future for further use of satellite communication and satellite sensing tools in order to enhance existing C/sup 4/IRS capabilities.
