Abstract
Influence of traffic characteristics on packet switch performance of SB and FPCF packet switches is evaluated using simulations. Maximum throughput, packet loss, average packet size, different types of delay, as well as output traffic characteristics of SB and FPCF packet switches are determined for different types of traffic, SF factor values, scheduling mechanisms, and relative switch utilisations.
