  • Abstract
Marine charts and navigational publications are the main navigational aids. Marine charts are especially designed to meet the needs of sea navigation. In navigational publications there are important navigational data which, due to their amount or their complexity, cannot be included into the informational content of marine charts. Including larger amount of data creates overstocking and undesirably difficult use of their information content. Paper and electronic marine charts and navigational publications are in use nowadays. This paper will define their expected directions of development.
