Abstract :
Mobile network positioning is generally considered as additional, value added feature of mobile communication networks. Main disadvantage is undefined quality of service (QoS), primary in means of positioning performance. Mobile network positioning generally is certainly not ultimate positioning method, but with post processing, mobile network positioning performance could be improved. For predefined, fixed trajectories like motorways, post processing algorithm with raw mobile network positioning input could yield usable positioning estimation. The purpose of this paper is proposal and performance evaluation of such simple positioning algorithm that uses series of GSM network positioning to estimate current velocity and use it to calculate position.
