Abstract :
A simple technique is proposed for measuring the dielectric constant of copper clad microwave laminates. A simple step-impedance resonator has been applied to measure the electrical length of a transmission line. In order to simplify the measurement procedure, a novel symmetric strip-line with a finite dielectric has been chosen. To use the proposed dielectric constant measurement method, numerical calculation of the transmission line parameters is necessary and a useful home-made software is described.
