Abstract :
In this paper, the numerical efficiency of a time-dependent 3D analytical solution of the heat transfer diffusion equation is examined. The large time Greens function (LTGR) approach is investigated. The purpose of the study is to indicate the main source of the truncation error and to show a simple method which allows increasing the computation process efficiency. The method is based on adequate choice of the upper sum limits. It is shown that the number of summed terms should be dependent on time instant.
