Harmonic analysis of current waveforms in the DC link of a switched reluctance drive

In applications where a switched reluctance (SR) drive is to be supplied from an AC network, its electronic power converter includes a rectifier, a DC link and a motor switching unit. The authors deal with the analysis of the harmonic content of current waveforms in the DC link for combinations of various rectifier topologies and SR motor switching unit topologies with associated controlling methods. The analysis has a qualitative character and it is used to shown the effect of these combinations on RMS capacitor current.
