Abstract
Power transformers and transformers generally are key components of electricity transmission and distribution. Service life and quality of transformer are to a great extent dependent on working of insulating system of this device. Insulating system structure, used materials (for example transformer oil, cable paper, cellulose trafoboard, epoxy resin, polyurethane and so on) and production technology can bring along some specific problems for long-lasting operation. One of these problems can be partial discharges occurring in insulating system. Demands on the complex diagnostics of transformers led us to an idea to utilize the partial discharges acoustic effect response sensing at surge test.
