Abstract
A statistical model of impulse noise (IN) in digital subscriber loop is proposed. The IN is represented with one or several independent noise sources, which makes it possible to consider the burst nature and spectral properties of IN. The measurement scheme to estimate the IN model parameters, is presented. The model enables optimization of the receiver with regard to IN.
