Abstract
Multiamplitude continuous phase modulated (MACPM) signals are obtained by a superposition of two more continuous phase modulated signals. They have excellent spectral properties, but complex optimum receivers. The complexity of optimal receivers can be reduced, but their performance is decreased at the same time. One approach to reduce the complexity of the receiver is the use of average matched filters. A general suboptimal average matched filter (AMF) receiver model for MACPM system is discussed. The expressions for minimum Euclidean distance and error probability are derived.
