Abstract
The modulation of the output voltage of a three-phase (six-pulse) fully controllable bridge inverter with a constant DC link voltage is described. It feeds a three-phase symmetrical, few-pole AC machine with star connected stator windings and an insulated central tap. The connection of the motor and inverter is treated as a system of variable structure (in further VSS), where substructures are determined by the inverter switching states. The aim of the inverter output voltage modulation is to form such an output voltage that will impress a sine shaped current into stator windings.
