Abstract
The paper presents some facts about GIS applications and its usage, especially related to wireless communications. Quick overview of reasons that have led to the development of enterprise GIS in VIPnet, a mobile operator in Croatian telecom market, is given. Basic steps of project are described, as well as benefits of GIS portal development as a delivery channel that facilitates complex GIS functionality to corporate network users. Choice of underlying technology is explained and portal architecture depicted. Finally, experiences after first phase of the project are illustrated and some plans for future development are given
