Abstract :
The central goal in the development of software production environments is to provide a framework for the integration of a set of tools providing support in the whole software development process. The author examines process control (PC) within such environments, with emphasis on model-driven PC, formal process models, the customization of generic process models, the concept of reuse, specification methods and languages, expert systems techniques, and bootstrapping.
