  • Abstract
The development of cutting technology and information systems requires systematic gathering and processing of experimental data on machinability. The formation of the technology database and good knowledge in materials machinability are essential for a successful planning of the technological process. The wide use of computers has enabled the development of efficient programs which are able to solve problems of high complexity. On the basis of existing but not yet fully interrelated program options, and new knowledge, an integrated program which combines the entry and evaluation of experimental results, a formation of technology database and optimization of the machining process. Linked to the information unit for experimental testing and application instructions, the program enables interactive process planning in which the engineer takes an active part. The final result is that the program arranges the cutting parameter data into formats necessary for automated process planning and automated control machining systems.
