Abstract :
The authors present a model for the preventive maintenance of predominantly hydraulic systems. As there are no direct costs associated with generation outputs, the aim of the maintenance is to achieve the maximum available power along the maintenance horizon. The proposed approach is flexible enough to accommodate most electrical planning goals, including economic objectives and reliability constraints. It is possible to accommodate different network representations, such as linearized or complete load flow models, uncertainties in loads and equipment failures. A case study with a realistic Brazilian system is presented and discussed.
