Abstract :
Controlled DC drives are frequently used in industry where the dynamic properties of the load change greatly. An accurate drive model needs to be obtained experimentally before the controller can be operated at its optimum setting. In the paper a recursive identification method is outlined which is suitable for use in real time. Optimal results were obtained when using a deadbeat controller with corrector. The controller was adapted at each step on the basis of the newly identified model. The adaptive control concept showed good dynamic properties in major changes of the inertia moment.
