Abstract
The authors discuss the relative performance of two high-resolution eigensystem methods, applied to spectrum estimation problems as encountered in Fourier transform spectroscopy. The goal is to estimate the value of the parameters required to specify the nonlinear model of the transmittance spectrum as described by D.J. Gingras and J.F. Bohme (1986). The authors begin with the MUSIC model. They present a modified version of MUSIC based on an extended model that takes the line broadening into account. Experimental results on the resolving capability of the extended method for different length of the covariance function and SNR is given.
