Abstract :
The authors describe the application of the Motorola DSP56001 DSP chip to the Portable Voice Lender; a battery powered instrument for recording and replaying short spoken messages. The unit illustrates how the DSP56001 may be applied to the type of task usually thought of as the province of the single-chip micro-controller.
