Abstract
A decentralized output feedback controller design approach for systems which are required to have an overlapping feedback structure is discussed. The approach first involves transforming the given system into a larger-dimensional system. Decentralized controllers are then designed, possibly using the optimal control approach, for the expanded system. These controllers are contracted for implementation on the original system in the final phase.
