Abstract
A simple phenomenological model is described for calculating spark-gap resistance in nanosecond gas discharges. Initially an existing model is described, which involves the density and composition of the gas in which the spark-gap is immersed and the radius of the expanding channel. The model is then extended, using conductivity values fitted to experimental data. The accuracy of the model is validated by comparison with existing measurements.
