Abstract :
In this paper, we apply the Pontryagin optimality principle in order to improve transient response to the steady-state value. We first introduce the amplifiers and their importance, and the mathematical model of light amplification developed by Bononi et al. We show the detrimental influence of amplified spontaneous emission of ions in EDFAs
