Abstract :
This paper presents an edge detection method for single dimensional image signal. The method is intended for embedded applications. Two dimensional signal processing requires great memory and powerful image processor which is a problem in low cost embedded applications (e.g. (Trestik, 2005)). Necessity of special edge detection method has arisen during an intelligent image sensor developing. The intelligent sensor is based on CMOS image sensor and programmable logical device. The single dimensional image signal is available line by line from the CMOS image sensor
