Abstract :
Reliable H/sub /spl infin// norm bounding controllers are designed using redundant control elements. One sensor is made redundant and the resulting system is reliable with respect to single sensor outages. Design equations are developed for reliable controllers using the Riccati equation based H/sub /spl infin// norm approach. Modified design equations are then proposed to enlarge the class of systems for which the design equations will have a solution.
