  • Abstract
The paper evaluates and describes methods and techniques needed for integration of SIP and HL7 standard protocols, that enables SIP to become carrier protocol for transmitting HL7 messages. Results clearly show that such integration is possible and needed in telemedic systems. Since this is novel idea in the world of HL7 society, some proposals in the paper can serve as groundwork for next generation of telemedic systems as well as distributed medical systems based on SIP protocol. That could enable era of unified messaging in telemedicine
