Abstract
Power combining in free space and beam scanning without phase shifters are two main advantages offered by arrays of oscillating antennas. An increase of the power radiated by the single antenna element is obtained by integrating a push-pull oscillator with two bipolar transistors in a rectangular opening inside a rectangular patch. This oscillating antenna is integrated in several power combining arrays coupled in E plane. All arrays have been experimentally tested. Very good power combining efficiency is obtained. Symmetrical beam scanning around broadside direction is obtained for all arrays.
