Abstract :
Dual 500 mA high-side intelligent power distribution switch with overcurrent and overtemperature circuit protection, 100 mOmega ON resistance, 86 muA quiescent current and soft start is proposed in this paper. The switch is dedicated to use in portable USB devices. Feasibility of this approach was investigated for a wide temperature range and process variations using Monte-Carlo analysis. The power switch was designed in a standard 0.35 mum CMOS technology and will be physically implemented in the same process by AMS.
